Stickers are available online from the DNR or from most any sporting goods type store (if they sell hunting/fishing licenses, they sell ORV stickers for $16.25 a pop). Only bit of advice is there are some trails out there that are not marked - if you can not get a car down them and you don't see any orange triangles within a mile, best to find something else to ride. With your Dual Sport bikes, just be sure they are quiet, have plates and get stickers and you should have zero problems. Still need an ORV sticker if you are going to also ride the ORV Trails.ĭon't need a sticker on your SUV, unless you are going into the Silver Lake Sand Dunes. If plated, you are legal on pretty much everything that is not posted closed. Their scramble area is only open from March 15 to May 15, but outside that, you can enjoy 118 acres of land with all types of terrain for Jeeps, ATVs, trucks. Now, if you plate your bike (street license) then it's a different story. Riding forest roads, county roads, snowmobile trails and so on is illegal. ORVs are only allowed on designated trails and routes which have the orange triangles (triangles have ORV on them). Everything in the lower is closed unless posted open. Things have changed much since your early riding days.
